Short lighting is the exact opposite of broad lighting and in this technique the side facing the camera is the one that is away from the light source. You may create broad and short lighting alternatively, without moving the source of the light or the camera, but by simply asking the subject to turn his head either towards the light or away from it (as in this case). Short lighting is ideal for faces which are larger as the illuminated part of the face is turned away from the camera. Short lighting is not suitable for people with smaller or slimmer face.
